Antique JSP Joseph S Pederson Teal Medical Malt Tonic Glass Bottle 1860 -1885
Bottle is in great condition, considering it is over 120 years old! It is a beautiful teal greenish color. No visible damages or flaws. Embossed on the front is the letters "JSP" on the bottom there is an embossed letter "B". Color is a blueish / greenish teal.
These attractive bottles stand about 7" - 9" tall, were blown just after the pontil period, and most have applied tops & date from c.1860-1885. The bottle contained "Johann Hoff's Malt Extract (Beer of Health), a healing remedy for the stomach, dyspepsia, etc., The JSP monogram stands for: "Joseph S. Pederson" - out of New York City, sole agent in the U.S.
